Credit authorizers, checkers, and clerks almost always work indoors in comfortable air temperatures and spend a fair amount of their days sitting. They have a lot of contact with others, especially by telephone and electronic mail. Dealing with customers is an important part of this work. These workers have a moderate amount of freedom to make decisions and must at times make decisions that have an impact on others. Workers may experience stress in this job due to time pressure or dealing with conflict situations. Credit authorizers have a fair amount of freedom to structure their work, while credit checkers need to quickly repeat the same tasks. Many of them work full time.
