Work Place

Automotive service technicians and mechanics work indoors, but their work spaces may not have climate control. They work in an enclosed vehicle or type of equipment every day. These automotive workers are often on their feet, and they frequently use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Accuracy is very important in this work. Noise levels are distracting or uncomfortable every day. These workers may get minor injuries. They are regularly exposed to contaminated materials. To remain healthy, they must wear protective or safety equipment. Most of them work full time, including many who work more than 40 hours a week.
